CATTLEMEN IN PEARLS – KPCA LADIES LUNCHEON ANNOUNCES LINE-UP OF INSPIRATIONAL SPEAKERS
The Kimberley Pilbara Cattlemen’s Association (KPCA) is thrilled to announce an inspiring line-up of special guest speakers for this year’s Ladies Day Luncheon to be held at the Cable Beach Club Sunday 23 September.
Ian and Anne Galloway were the inspiration behind the book ‘Cattlemen in Pearls – Celebrating Women in Agriculture’, which introduces 28 remarkable Australian women, spanning three generations, who share powerful, surprising and moving mini-biographies that recount tales of gritty determination, direst tragedy and glorious courage.
Featured in ‘Cattlemen in Pearls’ is KPCA Executive Committee member Annabelle Coppin, owner and manager of Yarrie Station in the East Pilbara who will share some of her story as told in the book via video.
Complementing the powerful line-up of women is new Federal Minister for the Environment and Member for Durack the Hon. Melissa Price MP who will also share her experience of resilience – some would say that surviving parliament these days is almost as hard as life on the land.
The event raises money for the ICPA Kimberley and Pilbara, and is attended by women from across both regions.
Chief Executive officer KPCA Emma White explains how the Ladies Luncheon has developed a great platform for women to come together and celebrate their achievements in the pastoral industry and more broadly in business, while raising money for a great cause.
“Now in its third year, our Ladies Luncheon has proven to be a great success and we’re so excited about the synergies between this year’s event and the book launch of ‘Cattlemen in Pearls’ with our pearling capital Broome being the location for the lunch,” said Emma.
The KPCA wishes to thank the major sponsor for this year’s Ladies Luncheon, Territory Rural who provide supplies, fertiliser, livestock, real estate, and finance services to meet the diverse needs of the pastoral industry in the Kimberley and Pilbara.
Supporting sponsors include Male & Co and Broome International Airport with major auction prizes donated by Galwey Pearls and Yeeda Call of the Kimberley Tours, with Cable Beach Club Resort and Spa showing their support as host venue for the third year running.
